HOW TO APPLY FOR A PLACE

Duke Street Nursery School is a Lancashire County Council maintained nursery and as such, admission arrangements are decided by Lancashire Council Councils admission criteria.

Children can attend Duke Street Nursery School from the age of 2. However it is wise to note that some funding for 2 year old's (if eligible) can only be claimed from the start of the *Term after your child's 2nd birthday, this also applies to 3 year old children. You can place your child's name on a waiting list by completing an application form and returning it into Nursery along with a copy your child’s birth certificate. You can call in and collect a form from the Nursery, where you can speak to staff and perhaps have a look around. Or you can download your own form by clicking the link below.

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA/CYCLE

We follow Lancashire County Council's fixed criteria for Maintained Nursery Schools. Please click the link below to see the current criteria.

Lancashire County Council Criteria

The admission panel meets in May to allocate places for the September intake, October to allocate places for the January intake, and February to allocate places for the April intake.

All the children receive a home visit and/or a meet and greet appointment with their Family Worker, then a phased admission programme begins to admit the children and work with both child and parent during the settling period.
